A Moment Like This!!!!

At last after 3 days of hunting at Harps ( Leafre ), I have successfully collected 10 peridots. Its really hard. The drop rate is extremely low. Luckily I bought 2x drop coupon so is easier a bit. Heres a short clip of my future UA ( the video stop before I click 'Ok' but thats about it. Your UA will be created once you click 'Ok' )

This is a  prove that your KOC class will have NO EFFECT on your class selection for your UA. My KOC is a WB and my UA is a Warrior. Well good luck to those who are working hard to reach lvl120 on their KOC. Tata~~~

Why bishop ???

Introduction :

The Magician class is always one of the most popular class in the game due to its large variety of skills. They are equip with staff or wand to cast their magic. In MapleStory, Magician have three paths which is I/L Wiz, F/P Wiz or Cleric. However in this section, I will lay down the path of a Cleric towards becoming a Bishop.

Cleric is also the easiest class to fund at a low level especially for beginner who are new to MapleStory as Magician has the most medium damage with the least of funding due to Magic Claw. Once you become a Cleric , and maxed out MP Eater, most training should not use any potions at all. The Magician Class also holds the most amount of level 200's than any other class ^^>.

Skill builds : Magicians use Intelligence and Luk

Regular Luk Build
Luk should always be +3 above your current level.
Explanation : This Regular Luk Build enable magician to wear most of the mage equipments and most Mages tend to cap their Luk at around 123.

Low-Luk Build (Recommended)
Same as regular build, but Luk stop being added when Luk is around 75 - 100
Explanation : Most player will cap their base Luk at 75, equipped with zHelm and Horntail Necklace by 120 so that they can equip Reverse weapon. Some player even tend to add more luk to use higher level equipment.

Lukless Build
All Ability Points goes into Int.
Explanation : The Lukless Build usually use Maple Weapons, and Common Equipment to wear.

SP allocation for 1st job ( lvl 8 - lvl 30 ) : Build A

Explanation :

This build is to maximize MP which is why MP Boost is max at early stage. Energy Bolt will be your main primary attack skill until Magic Claw is obtained. Magic Guard will be maxed out after Magic Claw followed by Magic Armor. Remaining skills are then dump into Energy Bolt because all other skills are maxed out. Some extreme player might go to the extend of putting their first SP into MP Boost instead of Energy Bolt.

SP allocation for 1st job ( lvl 8 - lvl 30 ) : Build B

Explanation :

This is a common build where most player will follow. Magic Claw is maxed followed by MP Boost, Magic Guard and Magic Armor. Remaining skills are then dump into Energy Bolt because all other skills are maxed out.

End results SP used for Build A and Build B : 67 (max)

7 Energy Bolt
Max MP Boost (10)
Max Magic Claw (20)
Max Magic Guard (15)
Max Magic Armor (15)

Cleric [2nd] Job Advancement :

At level 30, speak with Grendel the Really Old in Ellinia's Magic Library and follow his instructions to find your job advancement instructor at Elinia ( Cursed Forest - Polluted Tree ). You will then be transported to a map where you are require to collect 30 Dark Marbles by defeating the monsters. Upon completion, talk to the instructor to get the Proof of a Hero and give it to Grendel the Really Old to advance to Cleric.

SP allocation for 2nd job ( lvl 30 - lvl 70 )

End result SP used : 121 (max)

1 Holy Arrow
Max Heal (30)
Max Bless (15)
Max Spell Mastery (20)
Max Invincible (15)
Max MP Eater (20)
Max Teleport (20)

Explanation :

First SP into Teleport for a quick way to move about. Max out Heal and Bless for party and hunting reasons. Spell Mastery is then max to increase damage. Max out Invincible and MP Eater to reduce pot usage. Max out Teleport to even further reduce pot costs and finish off with 1 Holy Arrow as a free SP.

Priest [3rd] Job Advancement :

At level 70, head to El Nath and talk to Robeira ( 3rd Job Mage Instructor ). After that, go to Ellinia and talk to Grendel the Really Old. Then, find the Door of Dimension at Sleepy Wood ( Cursed Temple - Forbidden Altar ) where are require to fight the evil version of Grendel the Really Old to obtain the Black Charm.

Once you've defeated him, bring back the Black Charm to Grendel the Really Old in Ellinia to obtain the Necklace of Strength. Pass this Necklace to Robeira in El Nath and then head towards the Holy Ground in Sharp Cliff I in El Nath ( rock in the middle of bottom map ).

1 Dark Crystal is required ( use it on the stone ) and answer 5 questions to obtain the Necklace of Wisdom. Take this Necklace back to Robeira to advance to Priest . If you fail the questions you will need another Dark Crystal to retake the test again.

SP allocation for 3rd job ( lvl 70 - lvl 120 )

End result SP used : 151 (max)

1 Doom
Max Holy Symbol (30)
Max Shinning Ray (30)
Max Dispel (10)
Max Partial resistance (20)
Max Mystic Door (10)
Max Summon Dragon (20)
Max Holy Focus (20)
Max Teleport Mastery (10)

Explanation :

This build is pretty obvious for Priest. All Priest should max Holy Symbol first to increase their EXP. Holy Focus will be second skill to increase critical rate. Shinning Ray should be maxed next to lvl up faster during the training process if not in party followed by Teleport Mastery. After maxing this few vital skills, players now can have the option to max out Dispel or Partial Resistance. If for bossing, it is best to max out Dispel first. Summon Dragon and Doom will be the last skills to be added.

Bishop [4th] Job Advancement :

Once achieved level 120, talk to Robeira the 3rd Job Magician Instructor in El Nath. Then head towards Leafre ( top-right portal in the Valley of the Antelope in Leafre ) and talk to Gritto the 4th Job Magician Instructor. You are then require to bring her a Heroic Star and Heroic Pentagon.

There are two ways to obtain these items. Killing Griffey for the Heroic Star and Manon for the Heroic Pentagon is the first option while the second option will be buying the Secret Spell Scroll ( 10 millions ) from Vega ( Eos Tower ) and bring it to Chief Tatamo in Leafre in exchange of Heroic Star and Heroic Pentagon. After obtaining these items, talk to Gritto in Leafre again to advance to fourth job.

SP allocation for 4th job ( lvl 120 and above ) + Explanation :
  1. Lvl 1 Genesis should be good enough. After all, gene had cool down time and to have it as Lvl 1 is for showing off to others making a statement " I'm a bishop"
  2. Lvl 1 Resurrection and Lvl 1 Big Bang. All bishop needs resurrection and no excuse not to have it. On the other hand, Big bang will be bishop new attacking skill besides Genesis and Angel Ray.
  3. Max Buff Mastery to increase Magic Attack
  4. Max Resurrection ( reduce cool down time )
  5. Lvl 1 Angel Ray ( if available ) or Lvl 1 Holy Shield
  6. Lvl 9 Maple Warrior ( self explanation from the skill itself )
  7. Max Angel Ray or Max Bahamut

Upon following the skill build above, bishop will be close to Lvl 150. From here onwards, it is really up to the player to put their skill points. Some might max out or dump skill points into Big Bang, Maple Warrior, Infinity, Holy Shield, Mana Reflection or even Hero's Will ( remaining skills )

Note: There is no such thing as perfect build. Above is just recommendations from me ( Justin ) as I already had 2 Bishop ( lv 15x and lv 14x in Fornax ). Sometimes skill builds are dependent on the player ability to obtained such skills.

'Fame'-ous Quests !!!

Fame, something that I didn't even bother to try to get as much as possible. Never before has it cross my mind that one day some day Fame is so 'effing' important!!! Seriously! Aftershock had bring upon not only good news but also bad news, well to most of us the Fame part is a bad bad news. As stated in MapleSea official website ( under bug fixes and changes in Aftershock patch ) :

50 fames requirement to:
• Exit Leafre Town
• Transformation into dragon to Time Temple
• Enter level 68 and above mini dungeons
• Exit Kampung Village right portal to higher level maps
• Enter Entrance to Ulu City from suburban Area 2
• Enter Ninja Castle Hallway from Inside Ninja Castle
• Enter Parking Lot from Near the Hideout
• Enter dungeon maps from Path of Time
• Enter Bigger Ben Lobby from New Leaf City ( clock portal )

If you didn't notice, we need 50 fames ( yes is 50 FAMES ) to enter/exit those maps. I mean OMG !!! WTF !!! 50 fames ??? How the h3ll  am I suppose to get that much of fames ? Ashimio !!! The nightmare continue to be worse ... some of the maps there are actually popular maps like "Entrance to Spooky World". This map lead to a  place where you get your scar/targa helm ( basically the best helm you can ask for beside Czak of course ). Not just that you can't get your helm on time but it will also delay your training process as you are trying to get 50 fames in order to get the helm.

I've seen people buying fame for like 200k ea or more *Lol*. It cost you money and time. Well no worries because I can help and guide you in obtaining 50 fames a.s.a.p besides trading fame. There are cheaper and faster way to obtain 50 fames and maybe more provided you got the time. After all Nexon is not that 'cruel' ^^. Here is how you can get that 50 fames; by doing quests. Yes, by completing fame quests can earn you fames as reward.

These are the links for high fames quests :
Mulung ( required lvl77 and above )
Ludibrium ( required lvl80 and above )
Orbis ( required lvl83 and above )
Elnath ( Required lvl 90 and above )

For other quests that rewards fame, you can try this website Hidden-Street. This website gives lots of Maple related informations which are useful for both beginner and existing maplers.

Thanks to Hidden-Street for these useful informations.

Path of a WindBreaker

Hello folks! As promised, here is the guide to Winbreaker. I will explain briefly about Ability Points ( AP ) and Skill Points ( SP ) allocation and places to train in this guide.

WindBreaker ( WB ) is an archer class that uses bow as its weapon. Skills of WB are quite similar to an ordinary Adventurer Bowman except for certain skills.

I will start off with the stats built ( Str-less or Low Str or Normal ). It is always a pain in the a** when it comes to AP allocation. People will be asking how many str you have, what is your base str, how much your equipment add to your str etc etc...

The 1st step is to determine whether you have the equipments to go Str-less ( which means you must be flithy rich) or Low Str ( semi funded ) or Normal ( for beginner approach ). Once you have done that, ask yourself the next question; is HP important to you? If yes, then add Str to your desired amount. Why? I have come to understand that Str affects your Max HP while Int affects your Max MP. I cannot confirm that these information is true as I have not make a comparison before.

My WB was Str-less till lvl 90 and from there i add in 30 AP into my Str which gives me 34 base Str. I add in AP to Str because I need it to wear my Dark Nisrock which requires 105 Str. Since KOC max level is only 120, having a lot of HP or not is not a big matter ( not like you will be using KOC to go Horntail *F3* ).

To me, if you feel like putting AP into Str then go ahead and put in some. It is all about how you feel and not how others feel. I put in Str to use a better weapon ( high Weapon Attack ( WA ) gives higher damage ). Otherwise, I will be a Str-less WB. Once you have settle with stats determination, your next step will be allocating SP into skills.

*Which skill should I up first at this level?*

Common question among maplers. Putting SP into skills is exactly like putting AP into stats. There is no fix guide that you must follow from A-Z because SP allocation is base on either your mapling instinct or your mapling experience and not blindly following a guide. Don't get frustrated just because your friend tell you he/she up Double Shot first and not Critical Shot. This doesn't makes him/her right but is not wrong either. Everyone has different opinion. Maybe your friend finds that maxing Double Shot first will give higher damage than having a lvl1 Double Shot with max Critical Shot. So, is again up to your very own decision in SP allocation. However, I will, of course, provide a brief SP allocation guide base on my own experience.

SP allocation for 1st job ( lvl 10 - lvl 30 ) :

End result SP used : 61 (max)

6 Storm
Max Focus (10)
Max Double Shot (5)
Max Critical Shot (20)
Max Eye of Amazon (10)

Explanation :

My build is also known as Critical Build. Maxing Critical Shot together with a lvl 1 Double Shot gives a higher damage than maxed Double Shot with lvl 1 Critical Shot. Besides, if you feel like just using normal attack ( I'm a stingy person so using normal attack [1 arrow] is better to me than using Double Shot [2 arrows] ) then my build is the best as it deal higher damage ( high critical damage ). Storm can be ignore completely actually as it is a very useless skill ( IMHO ) so I put the remaining SP into it when i have maxed the other essential skills. I choose to maxed out Focus instead of Storm because Focus gives additional 80 Accuracy and Avoidability at lvl 10.

Place to train :

Basically, at lvl 10 - lvl 30 I will be training and completing Edelstein quest. Alternatively, you can also train at blue ribbon pigs > mixed golems > Zombie Lupins.

SP allocation for 2nd job ( lvl 30 - lvl 70 ) :

End result SP used : 121 (max)

11 Bow Booster
Max Storm Break (30)
Max Wind Walk (20)
Max Soul Arrow (10)
Max Thrust (10)
Max Final Attack (20)
Max Bow Mastery (20)

Explanation :

Since at lvl 30, Monster Carnival ( MC ) pq will be your fastest way to level up. So your SP should be put into mobbing skill ( Storm Break ) a.s.a.p. but since the damage will differ in a wide range, I maxed Bow Mastery first then only maxed Storm Break. Then I maxed Wind Walk to deal additional damage. I did not up Soul Arrow till I reach lvl 62 because you will be mobbing most of the time and Ghost Ship pq is only available when you reach lvl 60. Bow Booster kept at 6 because everyone does that ^^ ( 1min is more than enough in MC and higher level will not make you attack faster, it just make the buff duration longer only ).

Before Big Bang, Final Attack ( FA ) is consider useless as it will make you vulnerable to monster's body damage and skills due its cast delay ( another arrow will be shot out from your weapon after you use a skill or attack ). But after Big Bang, FA is a very important skill as it deal additional damage and most importantly, the cast delay is remove and replace with a red light animation ( no more arrow will be shot out which you barely even notice ). FA now can even be activated by using skills from 3rd job like Wind Shot unlike before Big Bang which only activate when you used skills from 1st and 2nd job.

I keep SP from lvl 56 - lvl 62 and put all at once into FA because putting it bit by bit will not really make any different and waste MP ( KOC FA is an active skill which requires to be cast like a buff ). So might as well wait till you have enough SP to max FA at once to see the effect of it. Thrust is maxed later as it is not that important. Remaining SP are then put into Bow Booster for longer duration.

Place to train :

At lvl 30 - lvl 51 do MC ( fastest way to level up ). Then, from lvl51 you have to do mobbing because MC is not available anymore and MC2 doesn't really attracts people to do ( at MapleSea ). At this lvl, I train at Ludibrium inside the Toy Factory till I can go GSPQ ( lvl60 ). Proceed with GSPQ or train inside Toy Factory till lvl 70.

SP allocation for 3rd job ( lvl 70 - lvl 120 ) :

End result SP used : 151 (max)

3 Strafe
Max Arrow Rain (20)
Max Eagle Eye (5)
Max Wind Shot (20)
Max Wind Piercing (20)
Max Hurricane (30)
Max Bow Expert (20)
Max Puppet (20)
Max Storm (6+4)
Max Bow Booster (11+9)

Explanation :

Adding 1 SP into Arrow Rain makes mobbing faster as it has a shorter after-cast delay than Storm Break. Then prepare yourself to go Rex pq at lvl 80 by maxing out Eagle Eye and Wind Shot. Once Eagle Eye and Wind Shot are maxed, you max Wind Piercing next for better mobbing. At lvl 91, SP should be kept from using so that when you reach lvl 100 you can max out Hurricane at once. Keep another 20 SP for Bow Expert when you get it later at lvl 110. Then, max Arrow Rain so that you don't have to depend on Wind Piercing as a mobbing skill which can only be use with Eagle Eye buff activated. The remaining SP will be used on any skills. For me, I use it to max Storm, Bow Booster, and Puppet. Strafe is up last because you won't be using it at all when there is Hurricane and Wind Shot ( faster and higher damage ).

Place to train :

Once you reach lvl 70, go to Edelstein Underground Mine and train there or continue GSPQ till lvl 80 where Rex pq will be available in the Mirror of Dimension ( MoD ). In MapleSea, Rex pq will be the best way to train till lvl 115. Then, you can still continue Rex pq ( a bit slower; 2% - 3% exp for each npq and 5% - 6% exp for each gpq ) or you can train at MP3 ( Mysterious Path 3 at Boat Quay Town ) or you can do both simultaneously like what I am currently doing. 50% at Rex pq and 50% at MP3 ... if too much Rex pq I can't stand, if too much mobbing I will be sleepy so half of each will be good enough.

Remarks :
*I didn't mention what monster to hit at that particular maps which I mentioned above because it is  understandable that you should hit monster that gives you at least 0.06% exp per kill and that monster level must not exceed 5 level of your current level or most of your attack will missed.
*This guide is base wholly on the way I train my WB. You will find some informations sounds like someone else's post but hey, these are the common ways how Maplers train their WB.
*This is just a GUIDE not LAW so you don't have to follow it step by step. Heck, you can even use your own way if you find that my way is too boring or normal.

My 1st guide and not last of course ^^ more is OTW... Now I have to concentrate on my WB. 3 more lvls to be 120. Give me some time and I will be back will more news, guides, and stories. Hope you will find this guide useful in a way. Blessed Be!!!

My First character

There is so much debate on which character to start off with in Maple. Well, I would like to suggest KOC. The reason of using KOC is pretty obvious due to the effect of Empress’s Blessing. Since the Lion Hearts' Castle patch gave a boost to all KOC  class in maple ( additonal of 10% exp of every next lv ), there is no reason why not to start off with it. Further more, KOC character growth is the fastest as compared to other which can be seen as below ( Maxed at lv 120 ).

Reign of Ultimate Adventurer!!!

The AfterShock patch include new map, new bosses, new event, and most importantly a new class. This so-called new class ( Ultimate Adventurer ) is actually a better version of a normal Adventurer with Knight of Cygnus ( KOC ) exclusive mob skill.
These skills are:

image Warriors - Mihile’s Soul Driver
image Magicians - Oz’s Flame Gear
image Bowmen - Irena’s Wind Piercing
image Thieves - Eckhart’s Vampire
image Pirates - Hawkeye’s Shark Wave

In order to make an Ultimate Adventurer ( UA ) you need to meet certain requirements:
  • You need a lvl120 KOC character and has completed the quest "Empress's Grace"
  • You need to have an empty character slot in your account.
  •
Once you have met these conditions, proceed to Erev and speak with Queen Cygnus and a window will appear which will let you fill in your desire in-game name of your UA, choose hairstyle, face and class.

Thank goodness, there is no time limit to the creation of UA. So if you have not yet make a KOC now is the time to do so. Speaking of which, I will highly recommend you all to  pick WindBreaker as your future KOC. Why? Well, I will tell you why. I will start with SoulMaster ( SM ). SM skills from lvl1-lvl99 consist of only mobbing skills like Soul Driver. So if you were to do PQ like Ghost Ship pq or Rex pq you will face difficulties in winning GSPQ or solo-ing in Rex pq ( MapleSea players should know what I mean  *F3* ).

SM bossing skills ( Adv. Combo and Brandish ) arrived late in game when you reach lvl100 and lvl 110. Same goes to NightWalker, FlameWizard and Striker where most of their bossing skills comes late in game. WindBreaker is the only one that has bossing skill ( Wind Shot ) and mobbing skill ( Wind Piercing ) as early as lvl70. At lv80, a Winbreaker with max Eagle Eye and max Wind Shot can solo Rex in less than 2 min provided you are not the party leader *wink wink*. If you like hitting mobs then i suggest you to pick SoulMaster for its signature move ( Soul Driver ), best mobbing skill among all the KOC.

Since I have played a WindBreaker although not yet lvl120, I will post a brief guide soon to help you maplers to reach your desired level on your WindBreaker. Until then, Happy Mapling and Blessed Be ^^
